Ajayi Kayinsola Set for Tough Sprint Test Against Simbine and Eseme in Hungary

Nigerian sprinter Ajayi Kayinsola will face one of his biggest tests of the 2026 season when he competes at the Gyulai Istvan Memorial in Hungary on July 14.
Kayinsola will line up against some of the fastest men in the world, including newly crowned African champion Emmanuel Eseme of Cameroon and South African sprint star Akani Simbine.
The race is expected to be one of the highlights of the meeting, with all three athletes aiming to make a strong statement ahead of the major championships later in the season.
For Kayinsola, the competition will be his first event outside the United States this year. It will also give him another valuable chance to measure himself against world-class opposition as he continues to build momentum in his 2026 campaign.
The Nigerian has impressed with his performances this season and will be hoping to maintain that form against two of Africa’s most experienced and successful sprinters.
Athletics fans will be watching closely to see how Kayinsola fares in the strong field, with many expecting an exciting contest between the Nigerian, Cameroon’s Eseme and South Africa’s Simbine at the prestigious meeting in Hungary.
