Ajibade makes big switch to Atletico
Nigeria Super Falcons youngster, Rasheedat Ajibade, has completed a transfer to Spanish Primera Iberdrola side, Atletico Madrid Femenino from Avaldsnes IL in the Norwegian Toppserien.
The 21-year-old striker started her professional career at FC Robo in the Nigerian Women’s Professional League, from where she received national acclaim for her searing pace, technical astuteness, and finishing ability. She moved to Avaldsnes soon afterwards.
She joins fellow Super Falcons, Asisat Oshoala of Barcelona and Chidinma Okeke of Madrid CFF in the Primera Iberdrola, and has followed in the footsteps of national teammate, Francisca Ordega, who until her move to Washington Spirit, featured for Atletico Madrid.
Ajibade was part of the Super Falcons side that played in the 2019 Women’s World Cup in France.
