Akor Adams arrives in Sevilla for medicals and final talks ahead of potential move
Nigerian striker Akor Adams has arrived in Sevilla to undergo his medical examination and complete the final stages of negotiations for a potential four-year contract with the Spanish club.
Earlier reports had suggested that Adams, who has faced a challenging start to his second season in France, was in advanced discussions with Sevilla over a move. His arrival in Spain today confirmed that he is close to finalising the deal.
A video shared by ZonaMixta showed Adams alongside his agent, smiling and posing for a photo upon his arrival at the club.
Adams is set to join Sevilla for a fee of around €5.5 million from Montpellier and will sign a contract lasting until 2029. This move will make him the third Nigerian player at the club, following the arrivals of Kelechi Iheanacho and Chidera Ejuke during the 2024 summer transfer window.
The 25-year-old striker, formerly of Lillestrom, is expected to strengthen Sevilla’s attacking options. Adams has a proven goal-scoring record, having scored double-digit goals in his debut season at Montpellier and an impressive 28 goals in 50 appearances for Lillestrom.
Adams’ arrival could increase competition for places in Sevilla’s attack, which may impact Iheanacho’s role at the club. Iheanacho has struggled for form in Spain, and with new competition from both Isaac Romero and now Adams, he could face a challenge to retain his starting spot.
Adams’ potential signing marks another important addition to Sevilla as they look to improve their attacking depth for the remainder of the season.
