Akor Adams nets brace as Montpellier claim huge Coupe de France win
Nigerian striker Akor Adams was at the double for Montpellier in their comfortable 4-0 win over fourth tier opponents SC Feignies in the Coupe de France.
Former Lillestrom man Adams enjoyed a blistering start to the season but has seen his goalscoring numbers drop since then. The striker started the cup match on the bench, and looked on as his side struggled.
After failing to score throughout the first half, Montpellier opened the scoring in the 58th minute through Becir Omeragic.
Adams was introduced in place of Arnaud Nordic in the 71st minute, and his impact was felt instantly. Just two minutes after his introduction, Adams doubled his side’s advantage after finishing off a pass from Jordan Ferri.
The Nigerian then turned provider in the 90th minute, with Sacha Delaye scoring off his assist. Akor Adams was not done scoring, and he added his second of the night in added time to seal the emphatic win and send his side through to the last 16.
