Akor Adams Scores as Sevilla Share Points with Rayo Vallecano

Super Eagles striker Akor Adams was on the scoresheet as Sevilla FC played out a 1–1 draw against Rayo Vallecano in their La Liga clash on Sunday night.
Sevilla have struggled to find steady form this season, with the team winning only seven matches from 28 league games under coach Matias Almeyda. The club has also suffered more defeats than victories during the campaign.
The visitors nearly took the lead early in the match when Jorge de Frutos fired a shot from outside the penalty area in the fourth minute, but Sevilla goalkeeper Odysseas Vlachodimos produced a fine save.
Rayo Vallecano continued to press forward, and Fran Pérez also had an effort stopped as the away side pushed for the opening goal.
However, Sevilla struck first through a swift counter-attack. Former Chelsea FC defender Cesar Azpilicueta delivered a cross from the right side, and Adams calmly tapped the ball into the net. The goal was his seventh in the league this season.
Just two minutes later, the Nigerian forward almost doubled Sevilla’s advantage after receiving a pass from Alexis Sánchez, but his shot went wide.
Adams continued to trouble the defence and had another chance to score again, but he could not convert his opportunity.
Rayo Vallecano found their equaliser five minutes into the second half. Fran Pérez won a free kick near Sevilla’s penalty area after a challenge from Azpilicueta. The Spanish winger then stepped up and curled the ball into the top corner to make it 1–1.
Adams was later substituted in the 67th minute, but Sevilla could not find a winning goal before the final whistle.
The result leaves Sevilla in 13th place on the La Liga table, six points above the relegation zone.
