Akor Adams Stays Positive After Season-Ending Injury at Sevilla
Nigerian striker Akor Adams is keeping a positive mindset despite being ruled out for the rest of the season due to injury.
Adams joined Spanish club Sevilla in January for €5.5 million from French side Montpellier, with high hopes of making a big impact. The club even allowed fellow Nigerian forward Kelechi Iheanacho to leave on loan, showing their faith in Adams.
However, things have not gone to plan. Injuries have limited the 25-year-old to just four appearances for Sevilla this season.
Injury Struggles
In February, Adams picked up a hamstring injury that kept him out for five matches. He returned to action hoping to help Sevilla finish the season strongly, but suffered another muscle injury this week. The club has now confirmed he will miss the remainder of the campaign.
Staying Strong Mentally
Despite these setbacks, Adams has remained mentally strong. He shared a Bible verse on Instagram to show his faith and determination:
“Even when bad things happen to the good and godly ones, the Lord will save them and not let them be defeated by what they face.” — Psalms 34:19 (TPT)
Looking Ahead
It’s been a disappointing spell for both Adams and Sevilla. The striker hasn’t scored or assisted a goal, largely due to his limited game time.
With his season now over, Adams has time to recover fully and prepare for next season. He will need to prove himself when he returns, or risk being sold or sent on loan to make room for another forward.
Sevilla will be hoping that a fully fit Akor Adams can finally show the quality that brought him to Spain in the first place.
