Akpobprie says Rohr has not improved the Eagles
Disappointed with Super Eagles display against Fennecs and Carthage Eagles
Former Super Eagles striker Jonathan Akpoborie has said he is yet to see the impact of coach Genort Rohr on the team.
The former Wolfsburg striker said he was left disappointed watch Nigeria in their two International friendlies against Algeria and Tunisia.
Eagles were beaten 1-0 in the first friendly by Algeria and were forced to a 1-1 draw by Tunisia.
While the scoreline wasn’t the issue with Akpoborie, he, however, mentioned that the team looked out sort and without any organisation whatsoever.
“Looking at the two matches, to sum up everything, it wasn’t really encouraging at all, said Akpoborie as quoted by Wildflower.
“Even against the backdrop of the introduction of new players, especially the game against Algeria, there is no element of improvement.”
German-based ex-international then questions Gernot Rohr impact on the team as he claimed the weren’t just technically coached.
“Even with the introduction of new players, you should see an arrangement that the Super Eagles is playing organised football and that was missing in the two games.
“It is becoming annoying when people start saying the coach is rebuilding.
“Even when the German national team changed everybody in the team, they were still playing good football.
“We couldn’t put three or four passes together in the midfield, the build-up play from the back was almost zero in both games.”
