Akwa Ibom State FA congratulates Super Eagles B, NFF after CHAN qualification
The Akwa Ibom State Football Association has extended hearty congratulations to the Super Eagles B team and the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) following Nigeria’s 3-1 victory over Ghana’s Black Galaxies in Uyo, securing qualification for the 2025 African Nations Championship (CHAN).
Speaking after the match at the Godswill Akpabio International Stadium, Mr Umoh hailed the Super Eagles B for their spirited performance, describing the win as a testament to the quality and potential of Nigeria’s home-based players.
“This was a fantastic display by the Super Eagles B. Their energy, tactical discipline, and hunger for success were evident throughout the game. They have made us all proud, and we are confident they can go all the way in the tournament proper,” Mr Umoh stated.
He also commended the NFF, under the leadership of Alhaji Ibrahim Gusau, for their efforts in developing the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL), which he said has greatly improved the quality of players available for the national team.
“The strides made by the NFF in developing the NPFL are beginning to bear fruit. The performance of our home-based Eagles is proof that we are on the right path. This victory is not just for the team but for the entire Nigerian football family,” Mr Umoh added.
The Chairman urged the Super Eagles B to maintain their focus and build on this success as they prepare for the 2025 CHAN, which will be co-hosted by Uganda, Kenya, and Tanzania.
“Qualifying for CHAN is just the first step. I am confident this team has what it takes to go all the way and bring the trophy home. We will continue to support them in every way possible,” the Akwa Ibom State Football Association Chairman assured.
