Akwa Ibom State Football Association Rallies Support for Super Eagles Clash with Zimbabwe

The Akwa Ibom State Football Association (AKSFA) has called on football fans in the state and beyond to come out in large numbers to support the Super Eagles as they face Zimbabwe in a crucial 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifying match.

The match will take place on Tuesday, 25 March 2025, at the Godswill Akpabio International Stadium in Uyo. Kick-off is at 5 p.m.

The Super Eagles are hoping to build on their recent 2-0 away victory over Rwanda. Victor Osimhen was the hero of that game, scoring both goals to give Nigeria a much-needed win.

Despite the victory, Nigeria currently sit in fourth place in Group C, with six points from five matches. They trail Rwanda, Benin Republic and South Africa in the race for a place at the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

Chairman of the Akwa Ibom State Football Association, Mr Samuel Umoh, has urged fans to come out in their numbers to cheer the Super Eagles to victory.

“This is a very important match for our national team,” Umoh said. “We need all our supporters at the Godswill Akpabio International Stadium on Tuesday. Let us fill the stands, cheer our team, and give them the motivation they need to defeat Zimbabwe.”

He added,

“Akwa Ibom people are known for their love of football. Let us show our support once again for the Super Eagles as they fight to bring pride to our country.”

Tickets for the match will be on sale from Monday evening. Fans can buy regular tickets for ₦1,000 and VIP tickets for ₦3,000.
