Akwa United Defeat Dakkada Fc 2-1 To Win Record Extending 13th FA Cup Title.
Akwa United Fc this evening defeated Dakkada Fc 2-1 to win a record extending 13th Akwa Ibom State FA Cup title.
Akwa United’s jersey number 28 David Onovo headed home the opening goal of the match in the 28th minute. In the 33rd minute , Franklin Matib tapped in from Evans Ogbonda’s cross to double the lead for Akwa United Fc.
Dakkada Fc halfed the deficit in the 45th minute when Edidiong Ezekiel’s bullet shot beat goalkeeper Uche Okafor . The first half finished 2-1 in favour of Akwa United Fc.
During the half time interval , fans were entertained with musical performance by Pastor Goddy Goddy before a procession and placement of the Akwa Ibom State FA Cup trophy by Captain Ubong Friday of Akwa United Fc and his Dakkada Fc counterpart Aniekan Ekpe.
There was no goal in the second half despite an improved performance by Dakkada Fc. The Coach Umar Danlami tutored lads came close to scoring on two occasions in the final twenty minutes but efforts by Emmanuel Ayaosi and substitute Isreal Emmanuel were inches away from the target.
Akwa United held on for a 2-1 win over Dakkada Fc to be crowned Akwa Ibom State FA Cup Champions for the 13th time. Akwa United Fc and Dakkada Fc will play in the Aiteo Cup National finals alongside finalists from the other states in Nigeria plus the FCT.
