Akwa United take on Plateau United in NPFL Matchday 11

Matchday 11 of the 2020/21 NPFL season is set the hold on Saturday February 20th and Sunday 21st with only 7 of the games holding as a result of a number of circumstances that have arisen with some of the teams.

On Saturday, Akwa United with their red-hot strike partnership of Mfon Udoh and Ndifreke Effiong host Plateau United at the Godswill Akpabio Stadium in Uyo. The game will be aired live on NTA and the NPFL.tv app from 4pm.

Saturday’s second game between Dakkada FC and Wikki Tourists has been postponed after Wikki Tourists encountered an motor accident on their way to Uyo that caused their team bus to burst in flames and burn. The Bauchi-based side have since returned to Bauchi after the event.

On Sunday, Jigawa Golden Stars host Nasarawa United at the Ahmadu Bello Stadium in Kaduna looking to secure a victory that would take them into the top half of the table.

Relegation threatened FC Ifeanyi Ubah host Katsina United in Nnewi looking to pick up a win and move out of the drop zone for the first time this season.

Lobi Stars host third place Kano Pillars at the Aper Aku Stadium in Makurdi. Pillars will be looking for a win that can take them to the top of the league this week.

Sunshine Stars will look to snap their poor run of three winless games when they welcome the resurgent Heartland FC to Akure. The Naze Millionaires seem to have put their early troubles behind them and will be looking to move up on the table.

Rangers International welcome the league’s leaders, Kwara United to the Nnamdi Azikiwe Stadium in Enugu. Kwara United hold the league’s longest unbeaten run, having remained undefeated in their last 8 matches in the league.

In a relegation scrap, Warri Wolves welcome Abia Warriors to the Ozoro Poly Stadium in Delta where both teams will look to move out of the bottom four.

The match between Rivers United and Enyimba has been postponed due to both teams being on continental duty this weekend. Also, MFM FC vs Adamawa United has been postponed after the travelling Adamawa contingent were attacked by robbers and had their driver kidnapped in Edo State on their way to Lagos.
