Akwa United to Face Eagle Eye Academy in 2025 Akwa Ibom Federation Cup Final
Akwa United FC has secured its place in the final of the 2025 Akwa Ibom State Federation Cup after a hard-fought 1-0 victory over Godswill Akpabio United FC in the semi-final match played on Friday, 21st February 2025, at the Uyo Township Stadium.
Forward Ogunleye Olayemi scored the match-winning goal in the second half, securing the win for the Promise Keepers, who are now set to face Eagle Eye Football Academy in Sunday’s final. Eagle Eye Academy reached the final after defeating Heavens Race Academy in the first semi-final on Thursday.
Akwa United, the most successful team in the state competition, will be aiming for their 15th title in 16 years. Meanwhile, Eagle Eye Academy will be making their first-ever appearance in a state final.
Both finalists have also qualified for the 2025 President Federation Cup, where they will represent Akwa Ibom State at the national level. Akwa United has previously won the national title twice, in 2015 and 2017, and will be looking to claim a third trophy in a decade.
Before the men’s final at 4 PM on Sunday, the Uyo Township Stadium will host the Women’s Final at 2 PM, featuring Ibom Angels FC against Jacklyn Angels FC.
