Akwa United’s Akarandut Orok reacts to victory over Enyimba FC

Akwa United’s assistant coach, Orok Akrandut, has said his team fully deserved their 2-1 win over Enyimba International.

The match, played on Sunday in Uyo, saw Akwa United beat Enyimba, even though they have not been very consistent this season.

“We are happy with the win. It was a hard match, and both teams needed the victory, but we wanted it more. Our determination helped the players fight hard and follow the game plan to win all three points,” Akrandut said in an interview with the club’s media.

The assistant coach praised the team’s performance, noting their hard work in all parts of the game. He mentioned they created several chances but missed a few.

“We’re glad the two goals we scored gave us the full three points. We will keep working on our finishing. Scoring more than your opponent is the key to winning,” he added.

Akrandut also highlighted how important the timing of the win is, saying it would motivate the team for future wins, both at home and away.

“Our position on the table isn’t where we want to be, so we need to build on this momentum. Consistency is important if we are to get the results we want,” he concluded.

Next, the 2021 league champions will travel to Ikenne to play Sunshine Stars this weekend.
