Al-Farouq Aminu ranked among top 100 NBA players

Barely a day after helping Nigeria’s national basketball team to qualify for their first-ever FIBA World Cup since 2006, Portland Trailblazers forward, Al-Farouq Aminu has been named among the top 100 players to watch out for in the 2018-19 NBA season.

Al-Farouq Aminu who is arguably top-10 NBA defensive forward was ranked among the top 100 players to look out for in the coming season by both ESPN.COM and SI.

Al-Farouq Aminu was ranked 81st by Sports Illustrated. According to SI, the D’Tigers’ forward who averaged (9.3 PPG, 7.6 RPG) during the regular season and (17.3 PPG, 9,0 RPG) during the postseason, “is the elastic band that holds a top-10 defense together.”

He is your go-to guy if you prefer a conservative defensive style as Aminu can muck up passing lanes and slow down top-scoring forwards. If you play a system that involves switching, Aminu will float from opponent to opponent without missing a beat.

If you go pick and roll, Aminu would look right at home blitzing and recovering against the system, where his length makes a chore of even the most basic outlet pass. Regardless of the system, Al-Farouq Aminu will definitely ball.

His improved three-point shooting and offensive rebounding put him among the best in NBA.

The ESPN.COM panels ranked him 100th.
