Al-Farouq Aminu’s 19 points and hustle give Blazers 3-1 series lead against Thunder
D’Tigers forward Al-Farouq Aminu made a big statement on Sunday as he helped Portland Trailblazers secure 111-98 win against Oklahoma City Thunders for a 3-1 series lead.
Aminu came big on the night Blazers needed him to put his side on the driving seat against Paul George’s and Russell Westbrook’s Thunder.
It was Aminu’s three pointer that dragged Trail Blazer away from Thunders with just 3.9 seconds left to give his side a 50-46 lead at half time.
Aminu had 19 points including 4-of-9 from three, 9 rebounds, a steal and a block.
Much more than the points, Al-Farouq Aminu helped Blazers keep Russell Westbrook out of the game for the most part as the 2017 MVP struggled to make any impact when ‘the Chief’ was on him.
In fact, Westbrook missed his final 10 shots and was 0 for 7 with one point in the second half.
Trail Blazers now have the opportunity to finish off the game at home on Tuesday.
