Al-Farouq Aminu’s defence and 3rd double-double of the season lead Blazers past Pelican

D’Tigers forward Al-Farouq Aminu played a great d and posted his season’s third double-double to help Trailblazers to a 132-119 win against New Orleans Pelican on Thursday.

Having lost 4 consecutive games to the 6th placed New Orleans Pelican during the 2018 NBA playoffs, Al-Farouq Aminu ensured Blazers take the ‘W’ and Pelicans ended with the ‘L’.

Despite playing without their All-Star center Anthony Davis, The Pelicans gave a good account of themselves and could have won the game on another.

But Al-Farouq Aminu work on both end of the floor gave the home side the win at Moda Center. He posted 10 rebounds and 17 points to earn his 3rd double-double of the season.

Another Nigerian player was in the starting linie up albeit in the opposing team. Jahlil Okafor started in place of abscent Anthony Davis. He was on the court for just 14 minutes and within that time he contributed 5 rebounds and 6 points.

Up next for Al-Farouq Aminu’s Portland Trailblazers is a clash agaisnt LeBron James’ Lakers as they look to improve their 6-2 record.
