Alex Iwobi linked with Everton exit
Nigerian midfielder Alex Iwobi is linked with a move away from Everton before the transfer window closes on September 1, 2023.
Iwobi has been a mainstay in the Everton team since January 2022 and was on a run of 52 consecutive appearances for the Toffees before missing last weekends 0-1 loss to Wolverhampton Wanderers.
As reported by Sky Sports, Fulham FC are interested in signing Alex Iwobi this summer to beef up their depleted midfield options.
Fulham FC boss Marco Silva was in charge at Everton when Alex Iwobi joined from Arsenal FC and so has fair knowledge of the Nigerian International.
Iwobi has entered the final year of his current contract at the Merseyside outfit reason the club may be tempted to sale and avoid losing him for free next summer.
The versatile midfielder started Everton Football club’s first two league matches this new season before sustaining injury in the second game against Aston Villa.
That injury has since been confirmed as a hamstring injury which will see him out of action for a few weeks.
In the 2022/23 season, Iwobi scored 2 goals and 7 assists in 38 appearances as Everton escaped relegation on the final day of the season.
A transfer to West London club Fulham will see Iwobi unite with International teammate Calvin Bassey who signed for Fulham from Ajax earlier in the summer.
