Alex Iwobi Named One of the Premier League’s Most Creative Players This Season

Super Eagles midfielder Alex Iwobi has been ranked the fifth most creative player in the Premier League this season.
Iwobi has become a key figure at Fulham since he joined the club from Everton two years ago. Last season was one of his best, as he recorded nine goals and six assists in 38 league matches.
Under coach Marco Silva, the 29-year-old has grown into one of the leaders in the team. He is not the quickest or most skilful dribbler, but he stands out for his intelligent passing and his ability to create chances. This season, he has scored two goals and provided two assists in 15 appearances.
A new statistic shows he has created 23 chances so far, placing him among the top five in the league and making him the only Fulham player in that group.
Despite his strong displays in England, Iwobi has found it harder to produce the same form for the Super Eagles. He is often played out of his preferred role for Nigeria, usually operating as a central midfielder with more defensive duties. This limits his influence in attack, unlike at Fulham, where he plays closer to goal and has more freedom.
The physical nature of African football also makes his job more difficult, especially against strong and energetic opponents. With the Africa Cup of Nations coming up in 2025, Iwobi may continue to face the same challenges unless his role in the team changes.
