Alex Iwobi reveals how he feels after his ” Most Mentally Challenging ” season.

After surviving relegation scare with Everton in the just concluded English Premier League season , Nigerian Midfielder has taken to social media to reveal how he feels from surviving the most mentally challenging season of his career.

Alex Iwobi made 30 appearances for the Toffees this term. 28 in the Premier League and 2 in the EFL Cup for Everton who managed a paltry 39 points in 38 games to finish in 16th place 4 points above relegated Burnley .

The former Arsenal midfielder wrote on his verified Facebook account ” The most mentally challenging season of my career so far is over and I’m proud to have come out of the other side Stronger , Sharper , hungrier than ever !” Iwobi concluded.

A challenging season it was for Everton who battled for safety following poor results under Rafael Benitez whose sack and replacement with Frank Lampard did not yield instant turnaround as the blue side of Merseyside looked headed for eviction from the top flight.

Away from his relegation battle with Everton, Alex Iwobi also had a difficult time on the international scene. The Midfielder was sent off in the Super Eagles quarter final loss to Tunisia at the AFCON in Cameroon.

While serving the suspension, Iwobi watched helplessly as the Super Eagles lost the Qatar 2022 World cup qualification playoffs to Ghana.

Alex Iwobi will return to action when he reports for duty with the Super Eagles of Nigeria for the International Friendly games vs Mexico and Ecuador.
