Alex Iwobi Talks About the Secret to His Great Form at Fulham
Alex Iwobi, the Nigerian Super Eagles star, has shared what has helped him play so well for Fulham this season in the Premier League.
The 28-year-old midfielder is on track to break his personal record for goals and assists. He already has five goals and three assists this season, matching his total from last year.
In an interview with BBC, Iwobi explained how his manager, Marco Silva, has played a big role in his success.
“I feel like I am just expressing myself more,” Iwobi said, adding that Silva gives him the freedom to go forward and try to score goals.
“The manager gives me that freedom to try and get into goal-scoring opportunities. Even if I make a mistake, he says, ‘Alex, go again,'” he explained.
This support from Silva and his teammates has made Iwobi feel more confident and almost unstoppable on the field.
“Having that confidence from him, and my teammates backing me, it makes you feel almost unstoppable. You are willing to try anything on the pitch,” he said.
Iwobi also mentioned the strong team spirit at Fulham, which has helped the club do well and reach eighth place in the Premier League.
“We’re fighting for each other,” he said. “You can see it on the pitch, but off the pitch, we’re like one big family. It’s a great environment, and the chemistry is really good. I think that’s helping us get the results we need.”
With Iwobi playing well and the team united, Fulham fans have a lot to look forward to in 2025.
