Alex Iwobi to make Everton future decision next week

Nigerian midfielder Alex Iwobi will next week decide on his Everton future as he enters the final 12 months of his current contract.

Iwobi will be out of contract at Everton next summer and was not in mood to discuss an extension as the club battled for survival in the 2022/2023 season.

Everton have tabled a new contract for the Arsenal Academy product, who has become an integral part of the squad since hitting top form in the winter of 2022.

According to Football Insider, the former Arsenal man will decide whether to accept Everton’s new contract proposal next week or to see out the season and take a new challenge.

The Merseyside outfit paid Arsenal £28m to sign Iwobi the suffer of 2019, plus an additional £7m in add-ons since his arrival at Goodison Park.

As it stands, Iwobi looks certain to stay with the Toffees for the 2023/2024 season but the club is looking to reach a contract extension agreement to avoid losing him for free next summer.

64-cap Nigeria international Alex Iwobi was among the players who modeled Everton’s new kits and is thought to enjoy excellent relationship with the people at Goodison Park and will likely commit his future to the club.

At Everton, the midfielder has scored nine goals and provided 16 assists in 138 appearances in all competitions.
