Algeria v Nigeria: Troost-Ekong out – who will you pair in CB on Tuesday?
William Troost-Ekong has been officially ruled out of Nigeria’s international friendly against Algeria at the Miloud Hadefi Olympic Complex on Tuesday, September 27.
The Watford defender was involved in the first friendly between Nigeria and Algeria B which ended in a 2-2 draw on Friday.
Williams Troost-Ekong who was making his 63rd cap for Nigeria played only the first 45 minutes which ended 1-0 in favour of Algeria.
A much better performance from Nigeria’s XI who played in the second half helped the Super Falcons to a 2-2 draw at the Hamaloui Stadium in Constantine.
With the injury to William Troost-Ekong who would have started in the second friendly against Algeria national team on Tuesday, there will be a void at the center back to be filled.
There are options to pick from as there are other five players out of which two could be picked to do the job – but who will the defenders be?
Here is the list of five defenders available for selection for the clash on Tuesday.
Kenneth Omeruo
Chidozie Awaziem
Calvin Bassey
Kevin Akpoguma
Valentine Ozornwafor
Based on current form, would easily be Calvin Bassey and Kevin Akpoguma, but which defenders will you go for if you were Jose Peseiro?
The friendly match between Nigeria and Algeria will be played at Miloud Hadefi Olympic Complex on Tuesday, September 27, at 8 pm Nigerian time.
