Aliyu Zubair confirms Gombe United FC exit
Coach Aliyu Zubair has confirmed his exit from the position as coach of Gombe United FC after four seasons in charge of the team.
Aliyu Zubair’s contract at Gombe United expired at the end of the 2022/2023 Nigerian Premier Football League season, and it’s now confirmed he will not renew continue at the club.
The former Akwa United FC assistant Aliyu Zubair led Gombe United FC to the NNL title and promotion back to the Premier League and will leave Savannah Scorpions with their status kept in the top-flight.
In a public statement to confirm his Gombe United exit, Coach Aliyu Zubair thanked the people of Gombe, fans, management and the players he had working relationship with.
He said: “For everything that has beginning must have an end and I want to use this medium to thank the people of Gombe state for the enabling environment they gave me to work over the years.
“Appreciation to the fans of the club, lovers, management and players for the maximum support they gave to me.
“One person I will specially thank is the General Manager, Abubakar Abubakar Dan Fulani for his support. I am really indebted to him,” Coach Aliyu Zubair explained.
Zubair is currently unattached but has given greenlight he will name his next move soon .
