All Nigerian clubs crash out of continental football as Sokari leads CS Sfaxien to beat Rangers in Enugu

Kingsley Sokari was in the forefront as CS Sfaxien beat Rangers at the Cathedral in their last CAF Confederation Cup group game to ensure all Nigerian clubs are out of continental cup.

Barely a day after it was finally confirmed that Nigeria’s representative at this year’s CAF Champions League, Lobi Stars crashed out despite their 2-0 home win against Asec Mimosa, Rangers have also joined their Nigerian brothers on their way out.

Unlike Lobi Stars whose future were already sealed before their last game, Rangers had a mathematical chance of making it to the knockout stages but the Flying Antelopes failed to make it count.

A 73rd-minute goal by Nadhir Korichi gave CS Sfaxien victory in Enugu today, while Etoile pipped Salitas of Burkina Faso 1-0 at home in the other Group B tie.

The loss meant Rangers finished the group with 5 points to finish 3rd, while the Tunisian clubs CS Sfaxien, Etoile finished 1st and second respectively with Salitas finishing 4th.
