Aminu helps Blazers condemn Suns to franchise and NBA season opener loss

D’Tigers gold winning forward Al Farouq Aminu helped the Portland Trailblazers to a 124-76 win over Phoenix Suns at Talking Stick Resort Arena in their NBA season opener on Wednesday.

Al Farouk Aminu started for the Blazers as they condemned the Phoenix Suns to the worst loss in their franchise history surpassing their 44-point loss to the Seattle SuperSonics on April 2, 1988.

Incidentally, the loss is also the biggest opening-night blowout the league had ever seen since the Los Angeles Clippers’ 46-point loss to the Denver Nuggets on Nov. 6, 1987.

The forward practically took it from where he left it off last season, where he helped his side pushed the eventual champions Golden State Warriors during their first-round Western Conference matchups in the playoffs.

Al Farouk Aminu lasted 28 minutes on the court and within that time he contributed immensely to the Portland course on both ends of the court, leading both teams in rebounds with 12, 9 of which were defensives and 3 offensives.

He dropped just five points because of his defensive duties on 2-for-4 shooting, 1-for-2 from 3-point land, two assists and a block.

Al Farouk Aminu’s Portland Trailblazers will welcome the Indiana Pacers at the Moda Center on Saturday.
