Manchester United manager Ruben Amorim was left frustrated after his team suffered a 1-0 defeat to Wolves, despite dominating most of the match.
United had several chances but failed to take any of them, and Wolves punished them late on. Pablo Sarabia scored the winning goal in the 77th minute with a brilliant free-kick that beat goalkeeper Andre Onana. It was Wolves’ first shot on target in the game.
United had earlier gone close through Christian Eriksen, whose dipping free-kick forced a good save from Jose Sa. Kobbie Mainoo also came close with a curling shot that went wide during a quiet first half.
Amorim made changes in the second half, bringing on Bruno Fernandes, Mason Mount, and Diogo Dalot to try and lift the team. But Wolves held firm, and Mount missed two late chances to equalise.
The loss was Manchester United’s 15th of the season. They are now level on points with Wolves, who move above them into 15th place in the league table.
Amorim’s Reaction
Speaking after the match, Amorim told the BBC:
“If you don’t score goals, you don’t win games. That’s our biggest problem. Before, we didn’t score because we didn’t create. Now we are creating chances, but still not scoring.”
He added:
“This season will likely finish this way. So we must look at the positives and focus on what needs improvement. Wolves had one chance and took it. We need to evaluate everything — our squad, the transfer market, everything. We talk about next season every day, and with time, we will fix what’s needed to improve the team.”
