Ancelotti Denies Talks Over Brazil Coaching Job

Real Madrid head coach Carlo Ancelotti has denied negotiating with former footballer Ronaldo Nazário to become the next Brazil head coach.

The Italian manager has been linked with the Brazil job for a long time. In 2023, the president of the Brazilian Football Confederation (CBF), Ednaldo Rodrigues, claimed they had reached an agreement with Ancelotti. However, the Real Madrid boss dismissed the reports and later committed his future to the Spanish club by signing a contract extension.

Ronaldo, who is the president of Real Valladolid, recently stated that he had spoken to Ancelotti about the Brazil job. However, the Italian coach has denied this.

“I don’t remember talking about that with him,” Ancelotti told FootballEspana. “I have spoken to Ronaldo about many things, but not this.

“My contract is clear. I have great respect for the Brazilian national team, their players and fans, but I have a contract with Real Madrid.”

Brazil recently suffered a heavy 4-1 defeat against Argentina, increasing pressure on their current coach, Dorival Junior. Reports suggest the CBF might approach Ancelotti again, but when asked about it, the Italian firmly said, “No.”

Meanwhile, Real Madrid could benefit in the La Liga title race as rivals Barcelona face possible sanctions from FIFA. Osasuna have filed a complaint after Barcelona fielded defender Iñigo Martínez, who was reportedly ineligible for the match.
