Anderson Silva to train as Police Officer
Anderson Silva has announced that he plans to undergo training to become a police officer in California, saying he wants to give back to the United States after spending decades as a professional combat sports athlete.
Silva is a former professional mixed martial artist and boxer widely regarded as one of the greatest fighters in MMA history. He is best known for his run in the UFC, where he competed from 2006 to 2020 and held the UFC Middleweight Championship for nearly seven years.
In addition to his MMA accomplishments, Silva also competed in professional boxing, later in his career, facing established opponents. His time in combat sports spans more than 25 years across multiple disciplines.
After years as a fighter, Silva is now preparing for a new professional challenge as a police officer. His background in martial arts will surely help him adapt to the demands of law enforcement, particularly in areas requiring self defense.
