Andrew Luck sees ´light at the end of the tunnel´

Indianapolis Colts quarterback Andrew Luck says he is starting to see the progress he has wanted since being put on the Physically Unable to Perform list following offseason surgery on a torn labrum.

While Luck has not returned to throwing the ball, he said he is getting stronger and knows he is getting closer to getting back onto the field

“I really feel this way especially in the last couple weeks, month, wow, I see the light at the end of the tunnel if you will,” Luck said.

“And I truly feel in my mind, in my heart that I know I’m going to be better.”

Whether that means Luck is going to be ready for the Colts’ season opener with the Los Angeles Rams on September 10 remains to be seen.

The typical recovery time after labrum surgery can range anywhere from six to nine months.

Luck had surgery in mid-January so is approaching the timetable to be back but, given his value to the team, it may be prudent to let him come back later rather than sooner to extend his NFL career.
