Former Premier League goal-scoring sensation Andy Cole has stirred up controversy by revealing his top three strikers in the world, a list that notably excludes Manchester City’s Erling Haaland and Bayern Munich’s Harry Kane.

Cole, celebrated for his prolific scoring record and Premier League Golden Boot win in the 1993-94 season, has opted for a trio that includes Robert Lewandowski, Karim Benzema, and Cristiano Ronaldo.

His choices have sparked debate among football enthusiasts on TV and social media, considering the omission of Haaland and Kane, both renowned for their goal-scoring prowess.

Cole defended his picks, highlighting Lewandowski’s remarkable goal-scoring record and the evolution of Benzema and Ronaldo’s game under changing managerial styles. In a recent interview with ESPN, Cole shared his top picks, stating, “At the peak of their powers, [Robert] Lewandowski. [Karim] Benzema, oh my days. Probably can say [Cristiano] Ronaldo. The managers change, they’ve evolved their game, you know.”

Cole’s insights carry weight in the footballing community, given his impressive career tally of 289 goals amassed during his illustrious tenure. The former Premier League striker represented various clubs, including Newcastle, Manchester United, Blackburn Rovers, Fulham, Manchester City, and Portsmouth.
