Antetokounmpo, & Doncic crashout as #EuroBasket reaches semis
Giannis Antetokounmpo and Luka Doncic have now joined Nikola Jokic on the way out as EuroBasket reaches the semifinal stages.
The two NBA superstars couldn’t help their countries as they were sent packing in the quarter-final joining Nikola Jokic who was already kicked out in the earlier stage.
Luka Doncic and Slovenia were set packing by Poland in their game on Wednesday.
The defending champions failed to live up to the expectations as they were beaten 90-87.
Italy-based 29-year-old shooting guard Mateusz Ponitka dropped a triple-double of 26 points 16 rebounds 10 assists to lead Poland to their first Eurobasket semifinal since 1971.
Doncic night was characterized by his 6 turnovers as he struggled to lift Slovenia against a determined Poland.
The Mavs guard still got his double-double of 14 points and 11 rebounds but just didn’t do enough to help Slovenia as their journey ended in the quarterfinals.
Giannis Antetokounmpo had a good game but he also couldn’t lift Greece as they fell 107-96 to Germany.
Lagos-born forward dropped 31 points, 7 rebounds, and 8 assists while club-less Dennis Schröder led Germany to victory with his 26 points, 8 assists, and 3 rebounds.
Wolves’ new acquisition Rudy Gobert led France to a 93-85 win against Italy – The center did almost everything to power the French over the line.
Gobert posted a double-double of 19 points, 14 rebounds, and dropped 2 dimes.
New Orleans Pelicans center Guillermo Gustavo “Willy” Hernangómez Geuer led Spain to a convincing 100-90 win over Finland.
His 27 points were huge as Spain made the last four.
