Anthony Davis not history-making Lebron James and son, the real hero for Lakers vs Wolves

The Los Angeles Lakers’ 110-103 victory over the Minnesota Timberwolves on Tuesday night was highlighted by a historic moment as LeBron James and his son Bronny James became the first father-son duo to share the court in the NBA’s 78-year history.

However, the night’s real hero was Anthony Davis, who delivered a dominant performance to help the Lakers overcome last season’s Western Conference runners-up. Davis finished with 36 points, 16 rebounds, and four assists in 38 minutes.

After the game, LeBron praised Davis’ impact on both ends of the floor.

“He is our key player offensively and defensively. We need to keep him involved. The coaches, led by JJ Redick, are doing a great job putting him in the right positions,” LeBron said. “When AD is on fire, it’s up to us to feed him the ball, and tonight, he did exactly what AD does best.”

Lakers head coach JJ Redick also had high praise for Davis:
“AD was phenomenal tonight. He approached the game with patience and took the right shots at the right time,” Redick said.

The Lakers will depend heavily on Davis throughout the season if they hope to secure their 18th NBA title, which would tie them with the Boston Celtics for the most championships in league history.

The Lakers’ success hinges on Davis and LeBron, especially with LeBron now in his 22nd season. As LeBron adjusts to his evolving role, Davis will remain the focal point of the team.

With a deep and competitive Western Conference, the Lakers need consistent performances from their stars to compete for the Larry O’Brien trophy. Teams like the Timberwolves proved last season that anyone can make a deep playoff run, and the Lakers know that well—having reached the Western Conference Finals from the seventh seed just two years ago.

Anthony Davis has already set the tone in the season opener, establishing himself as the driving force for the next nine months. If his performance is anything to go by, the Lakers will be serious contenders come spring.
