Anthony Edwards earns Castrol Rising Stars MVP Honors
Anthony Edwards, who plays for the Minnesota Timberwolves, received 10 of the 14 votes in balloting for the Kia NBA All-Star Game MVP, emerging as the clear choice among voters.
The remaining four votes went to Kawhi Leonard of the Los Angeles Clippers, who was the only other player to receive MVP support. The voting panel is usually made up of national media members and fan representatives, with ballots cast by outlets like ESPN, NBA TV, NBC/Peacock, The Athletic, and fans.
Edwards’ lead in the voting reflects how his performance resonated across the panel, with support coming from multiple media outlets as well as fan voting. Leonard’s share of the vote highlighted recognition for his efficient, controlled play, but Edwards separated himself in the final tally.
At just 22, Edwards continues to collect accolades while carrying increasing responsibility at both the team and league level.
