Anthony Edwards becomes first Player to Reach 1,200 Threes Before 25
Anthony Edwards added another first to his résumé Sunday.
Edwards knocked down six three-pointers in the Timberwolves’ win in Washington, pushing his career total to 1,205 made threes. That makes him the first player in NBA history to reach 1,200 three-pointers before turning 25.
The milestone was achieved through team effort. According to the NBA, Edwards impacted the game on both ends as Minnesota pulled away late. The Minnesota Timberwolves also got good support from Julius Randle, who finished with 22 points and four assists, and Rudy Gobert, who posted 18 points, 14 rebounds, and four blocks.
Edwards’ rise as a high volume three point shooter has accelerated quickly. Once known primarily for his athleticism, he has become one of the league’s most dangerous perimeter threats at a pace no one else has matched this early in a career.
