Anthony Joshua confirms dates and venue for his next fight

Anthony Joshua has announced that his next boxing bout is scheduled for September 20 or 21 at Wembley Stadium in London.

The Nigerian-British boxer shared insights into potential opponents, with his decision contingent on the outcomes of matches scheduled for June 1 in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.

On June 1, boxing enthusiasts will witness Deontay Wilder face Zhilei Zhang and Filip Hrgovic take on Daniel Dubois. Joshua disclosed his strategy, indicating that he would square off against the victor of either match.

In an interview with talkSPORT, Joshua affirmed his readiness for the upcoming fight, stating, “Whenever they tell me there’s a date, you know I’ll be ready 100 per cent.” He confirmed the venue as Wembley Stadium, expressing confidence in the organizers’ assurance.

“This is what I’m being told. If that’s what they say, they normally back their word so let’s go with that. Wembley, September 20 or 21.”

When asked who he and His Excellency were looking at as his next opponent, Joshua said: “On June 1 in Saudi Arabia they’ve got the 5 vs 5 card.

“You’ve got Filip Hrgovic vs Daniel Dubois, and you’ve got Zhilei Zhang vs Deontay Wilder.

“So providing one of those looks good – the one who looks the best, His Excellency Turki Alalshikh said to me, ‘I want you to fight [him].” Anthony Joshua remarked.
