Anthony Joshua Returns to the Ring Against Prenga Ahead of Fury Showdown

Former heavyweight world champion Anthony Joshua returns to the ring on Saturday when he faces Albanian boxer Kristian Prenga in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia.

The fight is seen as a warm-up for Joshua’s planned all-British heavyweight clash with Tyson Fury later this year.

Joshua, 36, last fought in December 2025, when he knocked out Jake Paul in the sixth round in Miami. He will now be looking to extend his winning run and keep his date with Fury on track.

Prenga, 35, enters the fight with an impressive knockout record. He has won 20 of his 21 professional fights by stoppage, although he has not faced many top-level opponents.

Joshua is one of Britain’s most successful heavyweight boxers. The Olympic gold medallist became a two-time world champion after winning the IBF, WBA and WBO titles during his career.

He has a professional record of 29 wins and four defeats, with 26 victories coming by knockout.

There will be no world title on the line in Saturday’s contest, but victory is expected to move Joshua one step closer to his long-awaited fight with Fury.

Fury is also scheduled to have a warm-up bout this week. If both British stars win, they are expected to meet later this year in one of the biggest fights in boxing.

The undercard will also feature British world champions Hamzah Sheeraz and Josh Kelly defending their titles. Joshua and Prenga are expected to make their ring walks at around 11:00pm BST.
