Anthony Joshua weighs in heavier than IBF Champion Daniel Dubois for Wembley showdown

Nigerian-born boxing star Anthony Joshua tipped the scales slightly heavier than his opponent Daniel Dubois for their highly anticipated IBF world heavyweight title fight at Wembley Stadium. With 96,000 fans expected to fill the iconic venue, the atmosphere is set for a titanic clash.

At the official weigh-in, held in the heart of London’s Trafalgar Square, Joshua registered 252.5 pounds (approximately 114.5 kg), coming in 2 kg heavier than Dubois, who weighed 248.6 pounds (113 kg).

This weight difference adds to the intrigue surrounding the bout, particularly given that Joshua’s weight is slightly more than he carried in his previous fight against Francis Ngannou, while Dubois weighed in at his career highest.

The build-up to the fight has been filled with tension, as both fighters engaged in fiery exchanges throughout fight week. Joshua and Dubois, both known for their knockout power, were involved in a heated confrontation during the promotional activities, leaving no love lost between the two heavyweights.

The stakes couldn’t be higher for this Wembley showdown, which will see Joshua, a former two-time heavyweight world champion, attempt to reclaim the IBF title that Dubois now holds.

Victory could also line up a future fight with the winner of the anticipated Tyson Fury vs. Oleksandr Usyk rematch, further heightening the significance of Saturday’s bout.

Joshua, who famously won gold at the 2012 London Olympics, continues to be one of the sport’s biggest names. The Nigerian boxer has headlined numerous major stadium events and built a legacy as one of the most dominant forces in heavyweight boxing. His focus remains unwavering as he prepares to face a tough challenge in Dubois.

With both fighters ready for battle and the final face-off complete, anticipation is building for what promises to be one of the biggest heavyweight showdowns of the year.

Wembley Stadium is set to host a thrilling night as the boxing world waits to see who will emerge victorious in front of 96,000 roaring fans.
