Arsenal Could Move for Lookman if Trossard Leaves – Fabrizio Romano

Italian transfer expert Fabrizio Romano has reported that Nigerian forward Ademola Lookman could become a target for Arsenal if Leandro Trossard leaves before the summer transfer window closes.

Romano explained on his YouTube channel that Inter Milan’s long pursuit of Lookman is now over after Atalanta rejected their €45 million bid at the end of July. Atalanta are said to be holding out for a higher fee.

“Inter and Atalanta had no agreement. Inter offered €45m, but Atalanta want more,” Romano said. “So, for now, the deal is off.”

With Inter out of the race, Romano added that Premier League clubs are watching closely. Atalanta CEO Luca Percassi was recently in England for transfer talks involving Rodrigo Muniz of Fulham, which could also open the door for discussions about Lookman.

“Now, keep an eye on the Premier League,” Romano continued. “Lookman’s agent gave priority to Inter, but with Inter no longer in the race, English clubs could be attentive. Arsenal are very happy with their squad right now, but if Trossard decides to leave, Lookman could be an option.”

Lookman has been one of Atalanta’s standout players since joining in 2022 and is believed to be open to a new challenge this summer. With only two weeks left before the transfer window shuts, the Nigerian international will be hoping for a move that takes his career to the next level.
