Aruna Quadri suffers quarter-final exit at the WTT Star Contender Ljubljana

Aruna Quadri’s remarkable run at the men’s WTT Star Contender Ljubljana has come to an end in the hands of world number one, Fan Zhendong.

After receiving a bye, Quadri started his campaign with a 3-1 win against 41st ranked Wong Chun-Ting in the round of 32.

He defeated 11th ranked Lin Yun Ju 3-2 in the round of 16 to set up a quarterfinal clash against world number one, Fan Zhendong.

The highest ranked African player gave his best but was not enough as he bowed out in the quarterfinal in the hands of Fan Zhendong in a straight set.

Fan Fan Zhendong went on to claim the tournament by beating Hugo Calderano 3-2 in the semifinal and claiming a 4-3 win against Wang Chuqin in the battle of the top 2 players.
