Aryna Sabalenka to face Rybakina in AO Final
Aryna Sabalenka and Elena Rybakina will meet in the Australian Open 2026 final after both players won their semifinal matches in straight sets.
Sabalenka, the world No. 1, defeated Elina Svitolina 6-2, 6-3 in 77 minutes. She hit 29 points and stayed in control throughout the match.
Rybakina advanced later with a 6-3, 7-6(7) win over Jessica Pegula. The second set was tighter, with Pegula holding two set points in the tiebreak, but Rybakina closed it out in one hour and 41 minutes.
Neither Sabalenka nor Rybakina has dropped a set during the tournament. It marks the first time since Serena and Venus Williams at Wimbledon in 2008 that two women reached a Grand Slam final without losing a set.
The finals on Saturday will be another Australian Open final between Sabalenka and Rybakina, who last met at this stage in 2023.
