Asisat Oshoala makes history again with Bay FC in NWSL

Africa Women’s Footballer of the Year award holder, Asisat Oshoala made history again with Bay FC in the National Women’s Soccer League (NWSL).

Recall that the Super Falcons star scored Bay FC’s first-ever NWSL goal on their debut. On Saturday, June 29, 2024, Oshoala achieved another first in the club history.

Super Falcons forward Asisat Oshoala continues to make waves in the National Women’s Soccer League (NWSL) as she becomes the first-ever Bay FC player to score a penalty. Oshoala’s historic goal secured a 1-0 victory for Bay FC against Racing Louisville.

The crucial moment came 14 minutes from time when Oshoala expertly converted from the spot, sending the goalkeeper the wrong way. This goal adds to her impressive start at her new club, having scored Bay FC’s first-ever goal on her debut in the USA.

The former Barcelona star has now netted three goals for Bay FC since joining the team. Unfortunately, her international teammate, Uchenna Kanu, was not included in Racing Louisville’s matchday squad for the game.

Oshoala’s consistent performance highlights her vital role in Bay FC’s inaugural NWSL campaign, further solidifying her reputation as a top forward in women’s football.
