Russ outshines Butler as Thunder cruise past Bulls, Rose misses Knicks´ loss
The Oklahoma City Thunder eased past the Chicago Bulls in the NBA as the New York Knicks suffered a surprise loss on Monday.
Russell Westbrook posted a double-double as the Thunder recorded a 109-94 win against the Bulls.
Without Derrick Rose, the Knicks went down to the New Orleans Pelicans 110-96.
Meanwhile, in the day’s only other game, the Minnesota Timberwolves enjoyed a win.
THUNDER WIN IN CHICAGO
Westbrook continued his fine form with 21 points, 14 assists and nine rebounds in the Thunder’s second straight win.
Steven Adams had a team-high 22 points for the winners, while Enes Kanter had a double-double of 20 points and 11 rebounds off the bench.
Dwyane Wade finished with 22 points for the Bulls, as Jimmy Butler was 0-for-six from the field and ended up with just one point in 29 minutes.
NO ROSE FOR KNICKS
Rose missed the Knicks’ loss to the Pelicans and it was seemingly unclear why.
Anthony Davis starred with 40 points and 18 rebounds to lead the Pelicans to their comfortable win.
Brandon Jennings (20 points) and Carmelo Anthony (18) were unable to prevent the Knicks slipping to defeat.
WOLVES WIN
Karl-Anthony Towns was impressive as he guided the Timberwolves past the Dallas Mavericks 101-92.
The center had 34 points and 11 rebounds.
