Aubameyang and Gabon out as Burundi with Berahino qualify for first ever AFCON finals

Former England player Saido Berahino and his new country Burundi will playing in their first ever AFCON finals after denying Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Gabon.

A win for Gabon at the Prince Louis Rwagasore Stadium, Bujumbura on Saturday would have secured their place alongside Mali from group C but the game ended 1-1 with hosts Burundi, booking their first ever AFCON finals in the process.

There were no goals in the first 45 minutes but the goals came in the second half, Cedric Amissi put the home team in front in the 76th minute before Omar Ngando 82nd minute own goal put visitors level.

Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and hus Gabonese teammates fought for the goal that will push them to Egypt but Berahino and his teammates stood their ground.

In the end, Burundi and Saido Berahino qualify for their first ever AFCON finals.
