Augustine Eguavoen a breath of fresh air – Troost-Ekong
Super Eagles assistant captain William Troost-Ekong has labeled interim coach Augustine Eguavoen a breath of fresh air.
The Watford defender during his pre-match conference for Nigeria’s last Group D clash against Guinea-Bissau the players are enjoying life under the new coach.
“We believe in the team, despite the tough months, we qualified for the AFCON and World Cup playoff but we were not satisfied with our performance,” said Eguavoen.
“We have a new coach, fresh air in the team, everyone is fighting & enjoying the moment.”
The former Udinese player is not the only Super Eagles player to talk about what they enjoying under the new coach.
Simon Moses also praised the former Nigeria International for giving him freedom to shine.
“Of course, It was my best performance in the last two years. You know we changed the coach and, of course, the tactics. So every coach has his own mentality and how he impacts players,” he said.
“With the previous coach, I played on his instructions, but the current coach gives the freedom and allows us to bring our style of play at our clubs.”
Nigeria will play Guinea-Bissau on Wednesday 8pm Nigerian time at the Stade Roumde Adjia.
