Awoniyi’s 4th goal of the season not enough as Mouscron go down at Stade Le Canonnier

Former Flying Eagles striker Taiwo Awoniyi scored a consolation for Royal Excel Mouscron in their 3-1 loss against Uche Agbo’s Standard Liege at the Stade Le Canonnier on Friday night.

Awoniyi was signed on a season long loan deal from Liverpool.

The 20-year-old snatched the equaliser for the L’Excel Les Hurlus in the 48th minute with a brilliant finish.

Second half goals from Orlando Sa and Edmilson Junior secured the win for Liege, who had Agbo in action for 90 minutes.

Awoniyi has scored four goals for Mouscron in the ongoing Belgium Pro League season.
