Babangida warns 2023 Flying Eagles set against hasty transfer decisions
Former Nigeria International Tijani Babangida has advised members of the 2023 Flying Eagles set to be careful before signing contracts in Europe.
Babangida [49] spent over a decade playing football in Europe and understands that the players could make or mar their careers with their transfer choices with clubs expected to flock around with interest.
Recall that Nigeria was knocked out of the 2023 FIFA U-20 World Cup by South Korea but the players did just enough to catch the attention of top European clubs.
On their performance and future prospect Babangida told CompleteSport “I am really impressed with the general performance of the Flying Eagles despite losing to South Korea in the quarter finals.
” Yes, the players gave all their best but then there is nothing we can do about the result.
“At this stage, I am sure some players would have caught the eyes of clubs in Europe but I will advise them not to be in a rush to sign any contract just because they want to play in Europe.”
“It is better to wait and look at clubs that they know will help them grow and develop their game so that they can be useful to the Super Eagles in future.” Babangida advised.
