Balogun sees red as Celtic down Rangers

In a highly anticipated Scottish Premier League showdown on Saturday, Celtic emerged victorious with a 2-1 win over Rangers, as Leon Balogun of the Super Eagles received a red card during the intense battle.

The match, took place at the electric Celtic Park, saw Nigerian defender Leon Balogun, who was making his ninth appearance for the visiting team, being shown the red card in the 71st minute.

This pivotal moment added to the drama of an already action-packed encounter between the two fierce rivals.

Balogun’s countryman, Cyril Desers played the full 90 minutes. Despite his efforts, he was unable to find the back of the net.

The first half saw Paulo Bernardo smashing in a half-volley, giving Brendan Rodgers’ side a lead that ignited the home crowd.

Rangers’ captain, James Tavernier, injected late-game excitement with a sensational free-kick into the top corner on the 88th minute, setting the stage for a tense finish.

Despite the late surge from Rangers, Celtic managed to hold on to secure the maximum points and maintain their position in the league standings.

The victory further solidified Celtic’s dominance in the rivalry and left fans eagerly anticipating future encounters between the biggest two football club’s in Scotland.
