Barbora Krejcikova has created a unique record after beating Iga Swiatek to claim the 2023 Dubai Tennis Championships on Saturday.

The 27-year-old needed just 91 minutes to dismantle Iga Swiatek 6-4 6-2 in straight sets to claim her first WTA 1000 title.

Barbora Krejcikova concluded an incredible tournament by beating the top three players en route to her first WTA 1000 title.

She defeated world number two Aryna Sabalenka 0-6 7-6 6-1 in the quarterfinal, beat world number three, Jessica Pegula, 6-1 -5-7 6-0 in the semifinals, and world number one Iga Swiatek 6-4 6-2 in the finals.

Barbora Krejcikova became just the fifth player in the last 40 years to beat each of the world’s top three players at a single tournament in the last 40 years.

After becoming the first player ever to win against the number 1 in the world at the Dubai Tennis Championships final, Krejcikova told Amazon Prime Video: “It means a lot.

“It was a great week for me, I was improving with every single game and today, I think I showed my best.

“I really have to admire Iga for what she is doing. To me, she is a big inspiration and she motivates me every day. It was a great final and I’m definitely happy with the result.”
