Barcelona celebrate Asisat Oshoala landmark game in style
FC Barcelona Femini have celebrated the Asisat Oshoala in a grand style after the Nigerian forward reached 100 appearances for the Catalan giants.
Asisat Oshoala moved from Chinese club Dalian Quanjian to Barcelona in January 2019 and since then she has cemented her place in the club’s history.
The 27-year-old striker scored a brace in Barcelona 9-1 win against 2nd place Real Sociedad in her 100th game for the reigning European champions.
She only needed 47 minutes to score the brace and was subbed off in the 60th minute to a round of applause and her club has taken to all their social media platforms to celebrate their queen.
In their statement, it was stated that she has scored 79 goals in 100 games played.
In fact, 18 of those 79 goals have been scored in the current league championship, making her the Pichichi of the competition despite being sidelined for several weeks due to injury.
In addition, Oshoala is the sixth highest scorer in the history of Barça Femení, surpassed only by Jenni Hermoso (173), Alexia Putellas (164), Sonia Bermúdez (123), Olga Garcia (94) and Mariona Caldentey (80).
Asisat Oshoala is the second foreign footballer to reach his centenary as a Barça player, after the Dutch Lieke Martens, who has 152 official appearances.
