Barcelona Interested in Nigeria’s Ademola Lookman for Left Wing Role

FC Barcelona are reportedly considering a move for Africa’s best player, Ademola Lookman, as they look to strengthen their attack for next season.

The Atalanta winger is said to be interested in joining Barcelona, while he also focuses on helping Nigeria qualify for the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

Lookman Hopes for Barcelona Move

Barcelona’s interest in Lookman is growing, although it is not yet certain. The Nigerian star has become one of Europe’s most exciting wingers. His dribbling ability and flexibility in attack make him a strong option for the Spanish giants.

However, according to Spanish newspaper Mundo Deportivo, Barcelona have other players higher on their transfer list, such as Liverpool’s Luis Díaz and AC Milan’s Rafael Leao.

Lookman, who is 27 years old, is reportedly ready to leave Atalanta this summer. It is believed he would cost around €30 million. But due to Barcelona’s financial problems, they may be cautious about paying such a fee.

For now, there has been no official offer from Barcelona. Any move for Lookman may depend on how the club’s other transfer targets develop.

Lookman Shines for Nigeria

While rumours continue about his club future, Lookman is also making an impact with the Nigeria national team.

He played a key role in Nigeria’s 2-0 win over Rwanda in their recent World Cup qualifier. Lookman set up Victor Osimhen for the first goal, helping the Super Eagles earn their first victory of the qualifying campaign.

With Osimhen scoring both goals and Lookman playing well, Nigeria’s hopes of reaching the 2026 World Cup are back on track. They will aim to continue their good form when they face Zimbabwe on 25th March.
